What You Will Learn
During your 4 weeks of platform access, you will study fully independently with no fixed schedule. The curriculum covers the core pillars of wine education:
The key stages of grape growing and winemaking.
The main characteristics of the world’s most renowned grape varieties.
The golden rules of wine service, storage, and food pairing.
An introduction to the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT).
How the Online Platform Works
Flexible Learning: Access course materials, activities, and practice exercises 24/7, whenever it suits your schedule (recommended private study: at least 3 hours a week).
Dedicated Online Tutor: You will be guided and supported by official WSET Online Tutors to clarify any doubts.
Digital Materials: All study texts and resources (including revision videos, flashcards, and exam tips) are fully integrated into the online platform. No physical books will be shipped.
Language: The course, study materials, and platform are delivered exclusively in English.
Samples: Wines are not included. To get the most out of your practical tasting, we recommend you taste a minimum of 6 wines during the course. You can ask your educator a guided shopping list on what key styles to source locally.
Technology Requirements: We recommend using a laptop or desktop device with a reliable internet connection. To sit your exam online, you will also need one additional smart device (such as a smartphone or tablet).
You can preview the online platform at this link. The full qualification specification and syllabus can be downloaded at the bottom of the page.
Remote Online Exam
To earn your official certification, you must pass a 45-minute exam consisting of 30 multiple-choice questions. The exam is taken from the comfort of your home via a secure video monitoring system (Remote Invigilation).
Important: Before registering, please read the Remote Exam Guide carefully to check the technical requirements for your room and devices. Any technical anomalies that do not comply with WSET guidelines will result in the cancellation of your session (resit fees will be at the student’s expense; see full policy and costs here).
Date Changes: You can request an alternative exam date free of charge at the time of registration. Any subsequent changes can be requested up to 10 working days before the scheduled exam (subject to an administrative fee of €30).
